Managing Projects with an Integrated Master Plan/Integrated Master Schedule (IMP/IMS)

The aerospace and defense industry has been using the IMP/IMS approach to project scheduling with great success. The concept is to have a Master Plan made up of milestones and a supporting Master Schedule of events. The Integrated Master Schedule lists the milestones as summary tasks, with the supporting events indented beneath them.
