1) Create a sense of urgency
2) Don't under- or overestimate
3) Stay on top of things
4) Keep internal and external dates a secret
5) Be persistent

This is not a job for people with thin skin. (I couldn't agree more!)

Number 4 does not make sense. Surely a project cannot function without target dates.

I guessed he meant keep the internal and external dates separately. To proscastinate is human, so its better for the internal due date to be set earlier than the external date. of course.. not to over do it, or the team will suffer...

Great advice but why do we need to keep internal and external dates secret? Can you give me a clarification? You see I will be getting my promotion maybe next week as a Project Manager for a BPO Company. I really need some advice! =z
